The International Independent University of Environmental and Political Sciences (IIUEPS) is pioneer of environmental education in Russia and the CIS countries. The university was established in 1992. Mr. S. Stepanov, PhD in Economics, is the Rector of the university.
The university has established branches and educational centers in some regions of Russia including Nizhniy Novgorod, Penza, Orekhovo-Zuevo, and Kazahstan that is former Soviet country. In cooperation with the American International University the IIUEPS established the US – Russia Business Institute. Some educational projects are implemented in cooperation with The University of Buckingham (UK), The Qindao University of Science and Technology (China), the University of Bern (Switzerland).
In 2009 the International Independent University of Environmental and Political Sciences received state accreditation № 000018. In 2009 activity of the university has been licensed by the State Federal Service for Supervision for Education and Science till 2014 (License № 002355).

- The Institute of Environmental and Political Sciences (Nature management, Environmental and political sciences, Sociology, International affairs, Landscape design)
- The Institute of Economics and Law (World economy, State and municipal procurement, Finance, Economy and management of organization, Auditing and accounting, Marketing, Law, Tourism, Management of organization including: finance management, tourism and hostel management).
- The Institute of Social Communications and Foreign Languages (languages: Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish. Curricula include: 1. Journalism, social psychology, public relations; 2. Foreign language and literature study, translation theory and practice)
